A tornoado skipped through Heath Wednesday night but did only minor damage.
The twister went from the southeast to northwest, just north of the lake, hitting homes near Darr and Smirl.roads.
“There were chimneys knocked down and some glass knocked out,” volunteer firefighter Tom Cosby said. Most damage was at the back of the homes.
Other damage was reported on Meyers Road and other nearby streets.
“It just kind of skipped around,” another firefighter said.
There was no damage reported at The Harbor or the shops along Interstate 30.
The storm struck about 6:30 p.m. and by 8 p.m., the area seemed back to normal.
While the damage was relatively minor, I’m sure living through a tornado strike was scary. Let us know what it felt like and send pictures.
