(ROCKWALL, TX – Oct. 28, 2018) The City of Rockwall’s Planning and Zoning Department will host an open house to present the OURHometown Vision 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update. The open house will be held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 385 S. Goliad Street, on Monday, November 12 from 6-8 p.m.
All interested citizens and area residents are invited to attend the event. Planning and Zoning Department staff will be available to answer questions from the general public. For more information concerning the proposed update, please visit the project website at https://sites.google.com/site/rockwallcomprehensiveplan/. In addition to the current website content, a copy of the draft plan, accompanying maps, charts and associated descriptive materials will be provided at the open house.
Then on Tuesday, November 13, the Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing and take action on the plan. The proposed plan is anticipated to go to the City Council on November 19 for public hearing and December 3 for adoption. Comments and inquiries may be directed to the City of Rockwall Planning and Zoning Department in person or by calling 972-771-7745. The OURHometown Vision 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update is the culmination of 18-months of work by the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC) and City staff. CPAC is a seven member citizen action committee appointed by the City Council to assist staff in the preparation of the update. The proposed update is intended to guide the future growth and development of the community over the next 20 years. The creation of this new plan is essential to identifying and fulfilling the future vision for the City of Rockwall, and to align City policies with this vision.
